Each body type has its own set of unique characteristics that defines it. These characteristics can help you distinguish which body type you fall under. As you guessed, the Ectomorph body type signifies a potential Hard Gainer.
Ectomorph (HardGainer): Long and thin muscles and limbs. Very low fat storage, high metabolism. Tends to burn fat easily, and has difficult time putting on mass of any type.
Endomorph: Wide waist and large bone structure, increased fat storage. Tends to gain fat easily.
Mesomorph: Wide shoulders and narrow waist, with large bones. Low fat storage. Tends to gain muscle easily.
